Christopher Kimball's Milk Street is located in downtown Boston — at 177 Milk Street — and is home to our magazine's editorial offices and our cooking school. From our acclaimed television show and bestselling cookbooks to our award-winning magazine and curated e-commerce store, we're dedicated to empowering home cooks with the tools and inspiration they need to change the way they cook and make cooking fun.

The Role:

This role is responsible for producing high-quality editorial content to support Milk Street’s eCommerce business and marketing initiatives. In this role, you will execute store email promotional campaigns, from brainstorming campaigns to researching content to assisting with asset management. To succeed in this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce timely, high-quality content and creatives. As Milk street is a brand built for home cooks, the ability to communicate and draw upon personal experience in the kitchen is critically important to this role.

The Responsibilities:

  • Master Milk Street’s voice across platforms to execute high-impact marketing marketing materials
  • Draft and deliver 2–3 daily advertorial emails
  • Write and copyedit product descriptions, including in-depth proprietary product landing pages
  • Proofread email and ad hoc content as needed
  • Write, copyedit and approve weekly cookbook emails
  • Pitch, ideate and execute new concepts, sales and formats for advertorial email calendar with marketing team
  • Track art and graphic needs and assets for email promotions
  • Interview product manufacturers and vendors to elevate product descriptions and promotional emails
  • Coordinate product testing and notes with testing team to understand key products attributes for promotional emails
  • Work on SEO meta descriptions for products and occasional onsite projects
  • Write 2 blog posts a month on assigned topics for editorial website

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years minimum writing experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications or a related field
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills; mastery of AP style and ability to adopt brand voice
  • Experience in a professional kitchen; alternatively, extensive experience as a home cook or recipe developer
  • A proven ability to juggle deadlines, manage several projects and work in a fast-paced environment, across a cross-functional team
  • Excellent organizational skills

Preferred:

  • A passion for cooking and food
  • Experience collaborating and communicating across organizational tools like AirTable and Slack
  • Experience using digital asset management tools, like Air
  • A keen eye for aesthetics, photography and design, plus how they interact with copy
  • An interest in retail and eCommerce

Compensation:

$48,000–$55,000

This is a full-time position based in Boston, MA. Milk Street is a hybrid office requiring two days in office every week.
