These broiled chicken skewers are finished with the juice of charred lemon halves that have been drizzled with honey, along with a sprinkle of fresh herbs. Cilantro, flat-leaf parsley or mint are good choices, alone or in combination.

One of our favorite quick recipes! I am wondering if anyone has tried it with fish such as swordfish for pescatarians? It seems like the flavors and method should work. I may give it a go and report back!

Very Good Chicken
This is excellent and I love that the marinating time is only 30 minutes. The grilled lemons and juice is a great touch and adds flavor. I am not a fan of putting things on skewers so I wonder if you could grill the thighs whole?

Add orange blossom water
If you really want to open the senses, adding distilled orange blossom water to the marinade adds a whole new dimension to this dish!

One of my favorite Milkstreet Recipes
This recipe is All Time. It's quick, easy, and incredibly delicious. It's amazing how much flavor comes out of so few ingredients. We've made it for guests several times and everyone loves it. The broiled lemons with honey may be one of the best parts. I slice the ends off the lemons so they sit flat on the pan and don't roll around.

I made this now twice. I tripled the recipe (7 people to feed). It's my favorite dish now. The lemon sprinkle at the end is a must. I saved some sauce and as the chicken is cooking, I add the sauce over it.

I've made this for 2 as well as a crowd. It's a sure winner every time. The only thing I might change is to leave out the honey in the final lemon garnish. The marinade seems sweet enough as-is.

Try using Pomegranate molasses as a drizzle with the fresh herbs. Adds a great texture and taste. Used a lot in middle eastern cooking.

Try using Pomagranate molasses as a finishing drizzle with the herbs. Not as sweet as honey but definitely adds another interesting texture and taste.

Zest and juice from all 3 lemons?

Hi Mary,

Use the zest and lemon juice from one lemon, then as the instructions state, broil the other two lemons (4 lemon halves) and drizzle with honey before serving.

The recipe doesn't give any clear direction what to do with the lemons. It just lists 3 lemons as ingredients, then tells you to use the zest and juice, and then later to add the 4 lemon halves. Also, you have comments "appearing shortly" from 4 months ago.

This was excellent! My husband said "Wow!" at least three or four times while he was eating it! Also, "30-minute" recipes usually take me 45-60, but this was actually on the table in 30 minutes!
